Ministry Report

Yesterday I shared with my Sunday School class a little about the non-profit I'm working on and asked for their prayer support. It's in the early phases but definitely moving forward. This week I'll be contacting women's groups in the area to set up a time to meet with them, talk about the ministry, and begin to develop prayer support groups. I have some ideas about financing the cost of incorporation and will be working on that as well.

It's a small beginning...a step of obedience. I believe that as I take one step God will reveal the next one, then the next...

Sometimes I have little spurts of panic about taking on such a project. At other times I'm designing T-shirts and signs - fun stuff to advertise and promote. What a crazy ride! I know that's all part of it, I just want to always keep my focus on God and remember that this ministry is being established because of his leading and for his purpose.

Long ago I memorized Proverbs 3:5-6. It's good to go back to the basics; things are so much clearer there without the noise of the world distracting and distorting. When my trust is in God and my prayer is for him to do a God-sized thing amazing things will happen and I will get to be a part of it. That is exciting and humbling at the same time. So, I'll read these words again and trust and obey...

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own
understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will
make your paths straight."

I'll also remember the first line of the next verse:  "Do not be wise in your own eyes..."

I'll keep you posted. For now, if you're reading this please pray for this ministry and for me and my friend Sharon who is joining me in this. We know God will make a way where he is leading, and are looking forward to serving him through our service to others.

What about you? Where is God leading you to serve? Tell us about it.

Hey!
Clicked over from your guest post over at ShepherdResource.com, and I'm so glad I did. I enjoyed reading about your project and your work under the book update tab.

God has been leading my family to serve for the last year and half. He's been teaching me that service looks different for everyone, and he doesn't expect me to serve like her or her or her, but he does expect me to get up and move. It's been an exciting journey.
