Remembering 9/11

After 10 years I still have the same feelings of unbelief and detachment that I had on that day. I don't want to feel those emotions again and immerse myself in memories of that day, but I will. I will choose to do it for a little while today in honor of those who had no choice but to live through it 10 years ago.

I will do it to honor those who have died.

I will do it to support those who remain.

I will do it to thank those who protect my freedom.

I will do it to celebrate life.

And I will be thankful that I serve a God of order and purpose in a world that has lost its way.

"For I am convinced that neither death
nor life, neither angels nor demons,
neither the present nor the future, nor
any powers, neither height nor depth,
nor anything else in all creation,
will be able to separate us from the
love of God that is in Christ Jesus
our Lord."
Romans 8:38-39
